Packet Pick-up and In -Person Registration Information

Q: Can I pick up my packet early?
A:
Yes, we encourage everyone to pick up their race packets before Race Day. Race packets can be picked up at Luke's Locker (1953 West Gray, River Oaks Shopping Center) starting Saturday, Nov. 21 through Wednesday, Nov. 25 during normal business hours. To ensure the best t-shirt size availability, please pick up your race packet early.

Q: Can I pick up someone else's packet? Can someone else pick up my packet?
A:
Yes, if you are unable to pick up your race packet, it can be picked up by someone else. Due to high shipping costs, race packets will not be mailed. If you live out of town, please designate someone to pick up your packet. Packets can also be picked up on Race Day but expect long lines.

Q: Can I register in person?
A:
Yes, in-person registration will held at Luke's Locker during Packet Pick-up. Online registration will close Wednesday, Nov. 18. In-person registration will begin Saturday, Nov. 21 and will end Wednesday, Nov. 25. Participants can also register Race Day but the registration fee will increase to $35 for the 5K & 10K events and $15 for the Kids' K. To avoid long lines and ensure the best t-shirt availability, please register early.

Parents walking with children

Q: My child is 7; does he have to pay the adult fee to walk with his father in the 5K?
A:
No, he can pay the Kids’ K fee and he will receive a child’s size short-sleeved shirt only, not an adult size.

Q: Can parents walk with their kids during the Kids’ K? If the parent is not doing the 5K run/walk, do they still need to pay $25 if they only do the Kids’ K with the child?
A: Parents are welcome to walk with the child during the Kids’ K and no they do not need to pay adult entry fee to do so, however, WE WILL NEED A SIGNED RELEASE FROM EVERYONE ON THE COURSE, so please have the parent fill out an entry form & sign it and write “parent walking with child in Kids’ K” on the form where it says to circle the event you are entering. They MUST sign the release! However, parents walking with children will NOT receive a t-shirt if they don’t pay the registration fee.

Q: Do I have to pay for my 2-year-old to ride in a stroller in the 5K walk? I am paying the adult fee for myself.
A: No, children in strollers are free, however, every person, no matter what age, MUST HAVE SIGNED A RELEASE FORM. Parents must fill out a form for the child in the stroller and write “child in stroller with parent in 5K”, etc. The child will NOT receive a t-shirt. Please note: Strollers and baby joggers may be used in the walks only and participants must stay to the back of the pack as to not impede faster participants.

Child entries

Q: My child is 13; can he walk in the Kids’ K?
A: No, the KIDS’ K is for children 12 and younger.

Q: My child is 7, can he participate in the 5K Run?
A: Yes, the first age group for time awards is 7-14.

Chip timing

Q: Do you time all of the 5K and 10K participants?
A: Yes, but you must have a chip tied to your shoe to be timed. Chips are attached to your race bib, which you receive at packet pickup. RUNNERS WHO WANT TO BE CHIP TIMED SHOULD PREREGISTER as only a small number of chips are available race day. Chips will be collected at the finish line.

Q: What is the award for age group winners?
A: A tile designed by a member of the Sheltering Arms Senior Services Adult Day Center.

Man's best friend

Q: Can I bring my dog to the Turkey Trot?
A: No, unfortunately insurance requirements prohibit dogs from the race course.

Parking

Q: Where do I park for the Turkey Trot?
A: Limited parking will be available at the Uptown Park Shopping Center. Participants can also park in the lots in along Post Oak (going toward the Galleria). Please park at your own risk as Sheltering Arms, TXU Energy nor the owners of the parking lots are responsible for items left in your vehicle or any damage that may occur during the Trot. For the best parking, please arrive early.
