Chip and Timing Questions NEW CHIP SYSTEM THIS YEAR: The Trot will use a new disposable timing system. Timed 10K participants will no longer have to register their timing chip at packet pickup, or have it removed at the finish line. Each 10K runner's chip is encoded into the runner's bib number. The peel-off, disposable portion of the bib becomes a tag that you attach to your shoe. To learn how to properly attach the chip, please view this instructional video. Because of this new system, runners may no longer wear their own ChampionChip in the race.
Q: Do you time all of the 5K and 10K participants? A: No, only 10K participants are chip-timed.
