Get Ready For Life

Get Ready for Life is a new campaign to help older adults live with independence, health and well-being by planning ahead for life's transitions. Its goal is to provide older adults with objective information and resources so they can make wise decisions about their future.

Making a Difference

Life takes planning. Get Ready for Life offers older adults one place where they can get the information, resources and support they need to make their own decisions and take charge of their future. The campaign identifies four major planning areas-health, housing, finances and happiness.

Get Ready for Life believes that all older adults can live with:

• Passion: By staying healthy and doing more of what they love
• Freedom: By planning for their finances and living on their terms
• Independence: By considering their options and choosing the place they call home
• Purpose: By building relationships, pursuing their interests and giving back

Get Ready for Life is an initiative of Care for Elders, a partnership of more than 80 nonprofit and other organizations dedicated to increasing access to services, improving the quality of care and enhancing the quality of life for older adults and family caregivers in Harris County. Sheltering Arms Senior Services is the partnership’s lead agency and fiscal agent.
